The major European manufacturers of potassium hydroxide (KOH) have joined efforts for their REACH compliance activities and have launched a consortium end of February 2009 following one year of preparatory work.

Consortium activities
The consortium members agreed to collaborate under the leadership of Tessenderlo Chemie in the preparation of a joint Registration dossier for Potassium Hydroxide. The dossier will include the IUCLID file and a full chemical safety report. It is the aim to cover all known uses of the substance. The consortium will be managed by ReachCentrum. Membership
The KOH REACH consortium structure includes a Steering Committee and a Technical Committee. The consortium is open to manufacturers, importers and only representatives as defined in the REACH regulation and includes their Affiliates.
