The Methyl IsoButyl Ketone (MiBK) Consortium was created to help its members prepare for REACH.
The consortium was initially created by members of the Oxygenated Solvents Producers Association (OSPA), a sector group of Cefic, to undertake the collective activities related to the registration of the following substances for solvents uses under REACH:
Substance | CAS Number | |
MIBK | Methyl Isobutyl Ketone | 108-10-1 |
MIBC | Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol | 108-11-2 |
DAA | Diacetone Alcohol | 123-42-2 |
ReachCentrum manages the secretariat of the consortium.
The members of the MiBK Consortium have substantial experience in the manufacturing or importation of these substances and have significant experience in implementing product regulatory initiatives such as the OECD/ HPV program. The consortium has already started work to produce REACH registration dossiers. Upon completion, letters of access to the REACH Registration dossier will be made available to non-consortium members. The MiBK REACH Consortium is open to any applicants fulfilling the current membership criteria of the consortia.
